It’s been a bit since I went out hiking. Sometimes life gets in the way. I regularly get out and walk around my neighborhood with my dog Godfrey but I’d rather hike out in the forests and mountains of North Georgia.
Today we took a short hike of about 3.5 miles from the trailhead to the Chenocetah Memorial Tower and back. It was an easy trail until just before the tower where there is a pretty steep incline. But the trail is suitable for everyone I think. Just take your time on the incline and you’ll be fine.
There were two nice small waterfalls along the way with side trails to access them. I only saw only one other hiker with his dog on the trail.
The trail starts at a small pull-off on the road. Follow the AllTrails app directions to the trailhead. It’s accurate and you may miss it driving by. There’s space for 2 cars at the pull-off. There is other parking but you’ll have to walk up the road a bit to get to the trailhead and there is a suggest $5 parking fee.
Here’s a map of the trail and my stats as compiled from the AllTrails app.
